The Academy
is part of the Charlotte County Public School System. It is located on the campus of the Charlotte Technical Center. Our primary function is to provide alternative educational opportunities to students that find difficulties
in the traditional
school system.The Academy
is comprised of several smaller programs to provide optimal services depending on a particular student's situation.
The Academy high school program provides alternative education for at-risk teens. We also provide services for teen parents and teens who have previously dropped out of school. Flexible block scheduling provides opportunity for accelerated credit retrieval and alternative diploma options provide an incentive for students that are more than one year behind in school.

CareerQuest

C.Q. provides
alternative scheduling
for young adults
who are
already working.
CareerQuest is
located
in the
Port Charlotte
Town Center Mall
near Dillards.
This program is
made possible by
the support of the
Simon Youth
Foundation
How to find the Academy:
On Cochran Blvd. next to
